Integrated Home Care Services, Inc. (“IHCS”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the information you share with us. This Mobile Communications and SMS Privacy Policy explains how IHCS uses text messaging and the information associated with SMS communications.
Mobile Information and SMS Consent
IHCS does not sell, rent, transfer, or disclose mobile telephone numbers, SMS consent records, or SMS opt-in data to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
IHCS may use and disclose your contact information as permitted or required by applicable law, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”), to coordinate your care, obtain payment for services, conduct healthcare operations, and fulfill other healthcare-related purposes described in IHCS’s Notice of Privacy Practices.
Consent to receive SMS messages from IHCS is voluntary and is not a condition of receiving healthcare services, benefits, medical equipment, or supplies.
SMS Terms and Conditions
By opting in to receive SMS messages from IHCS, you agree to receive transactional, service-related, and care coordination text messages from IHCS. IHCS does not send marketing or promotional text messages through this program.
How You Opt In
IHCS may send a one-time invitation by text message when in-home services, healthcare appointments, or medical equipment deliveries are scheduled for you.
You will receive SMS messages only if you affirmatively opt in, such as by replying START to a text invitation or by providing consent through another authorized method offered by IHCS.
If you do not respond to an invitation message, IHCS may send one reminder before discontinuing outreach through SMS.
Types of Messages
SMS communications may include:
- Appointment reminders
- Service scheduling notifications
- Equipment delivery notifications
- Care coordination communications
- Requests to confirm services or deliveries
- Service-related updates and follow-up communications
IHCS may ask you to reply with responses such as YES or NO to help confirm services, identify service issues, and improve the quality of care and customer service.
Consent
Your consent to receive SMS communications applies specifically to communications from IHCS. Your consent and SMS opt-in information will not be sold, rented, transferred, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
IHCS maintains records of consent and opt-out requests in accordance with its document retention policies and applicable legal requirements.
Authorized Users
If the mobile number provided belongs to a caregiver, family member, legal guardian, or authorized representative, you represent that the individual is authorized to receive communications regarding the applicable patient and to provide consent where authorized by law.
For individuals under the age of 18, consent must be provided by a parent, guardian, or legally authorized representative.
You agree to notify IHCS promptly if your mobile number changes or if you are no longer the authorized user of the mobile number provided.
Message Content and Privacy
Text messaging is not a secure method of communication and may be accessible to others who have access to your phone, mobile device, or wireless carrier account.
To protect your privacy, IHCS limits SMS content to the minimum information necessary for the purpose of the communication. Text messages generally will not include detailed medical information, diagnoses, treatment information, the specific type of equipment or service being provided, or the name of your health plan.
By opting in to receive text messages, you are requesting that IHCS communicate with you through this alternative method of communication. Information transmitted through SMS remains subject to IHCS’s Notice of Privacy Practices and applicable privacy and security laws.
For additional information regarding IHCS’s use and disclosure of protected health information, please review our Notice of Privacy Practices.
